Gilcrease Orchard was founded in 1920 by Elda and Leonard Gilcrease. Leonard, originally from California, met his wife Elda while attending the University of Nevada. The couple had two children, John Theodore and William Orr, and bought 900 acres of land in the Las Vegas Valley.
